Environmental Info
Sony is engaged in a constant review of its manufacturing, operational and business practices to ensure that its products are developed in an environmentally responsible way. This approach can broadly be divided into three areas:
PRODUCT: The Power Consumption on Standby mode is only 0.1 watt.
Halogenated materials may pose a risk to the environment if disposed of improperly. To minimize this risk for the DVD-NS708 DVD Player, the flame retardants of the front panel and certain printed circuit boards are halogen-free.
PROCESS: The packaging cushions, used to protect the DVD Player NS708 are made from paper, of which 70% or more is recycled paper.
The instruction manual is printed on 70% or more recycled paper using VOC (Volatile Organic Compound)-free vegetable oil based ink.
PLANET: Sony is determined to lead the way as a responsible manufacturer, and as a result we are focussing on three key areas of investment:
- Reducing CO2 gas emissions
- Increasing the percentage of renewable energy used in manufacturing facilities
- Minimising the resources used by our factories in manufacturing
